Presenting Exploring Social Support and Family Well-Being Through Family Routines for Parents of Autistic Children 

Angela Makris is a PhD Candidate at the University of South Florida’s College of Public Health and a University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) Trainee at the Florida Center for Inclusive Communities at the University of South Florida. Her research centers on the family as a crucial setting for health promotion through the social marketing framework, with a specific focus on families with children with disabilities. Her dissertation explores the stress experienced by parents’ caregiving an autistic child, emphasizing the mitigating role of social support. Her work particularly examines the use of social media as a form of support and its translation into inclusive public health strategies.
