Biography

Presenting Deaf populations and human trafficking: Risk and protective factors for consideration 

Dr. Kobek Pezzarossi has dedicated her career to psychology and advocacy, beginning with a B.A. in Psychology from Lenoir-Rhyne University. She earned her M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Arkansas and served as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing populations. Pursuing her passion, she completed a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Gallaudet University, where she is now Special Assistant to the Provost for Curriculum, Outreach, Resources, and Effectiveness. A professor and researcher, Dr. Kobek Pezzarossi focuses on intimate partner violence and media’s impact on mental health within Deaf communities, advancing education and equity.
