Presenting Accessible Teaching Materials in K-12 Classrooms: Book Presentation and Discussion
Dr. Kate Benson is a veteran special educator, historian, and advocate with expertise in disability history and inclusive education. She holds an EdD in Transformational School Leadership focusing on resource equity for therapeutic day schools and intensive special education environments. Dr. Benson is the President of the Belchertown State School Friends Association, a nonprofit preserving disability history through its virtual museum, and is the award-winning author of both nonfiction and historical fiction based on her years of research on institutionalization. She is also an Emerging America Library of Congress TPS Coach and works closely with the Collaborative for Education to advance the teaching of disability history curriculum in the public schools.
