Biography

Presenting Recognizing, Preventing, and Responding to Disability-Related Microaggressions

Kate Higgins is the Associate Director of Harvard University Disability Resources, where she leads in campus efforts to promote accessibility and inclusion. Since stepping in to her role in 2021, she has spearheaded a university-wide disability awareness campaign, formed a student accessibility advisory group, lead numerous trainings and events, and helped establish Harvard’s employee resource group for disabled faculty and staff and allies.  Kate also serves as a Board of Trustee and Education Committee Chair at Perkins, where she worked for nearly a decade as an educator and program administrator. Kate is blind and has a guide dog named Dodger.
