Presenting Access as Praxis: A conversation between disability arts and culture practitioners
Maggie Bridger is a sick and disabled dance artist, fiber artist, access worker, and scholar interested in reimagining pain through the creative process. She is a PhD Candidate in Disability Studies at the University of Illinois Chicago, Membership and Conference Manager at the Dance Studies Association, and Lecturer at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the University of Chicago. Her choreographic work was recently shown at the Steppenwolf Theater Company’s LookOut Series and The Art Institute of Chicago, among others. Her writing can be found in the Canadian Journal of Disability Studies, Le Sociographe, and The HowlRound.
