Presenting Access as Praxis: A conversation between disability arts and culture practitioners
Amelia-Marie K. Altstadt (they/she) is a PhD student in Disability Studies at the University of Illinois Chicago, and a Pipeline to An Inclusive Faculty Fellow originally from San Diego, California (Kumeyaay land). Amelia-Marie leads access work in several projects with Bodies of Work at UIC and coordinates the Coalition for Autistic and Neurodivergent Students (CANS). Their work and research explores disability arts and culture, children of disabled adults (CODISA), and higher education. In 2024, Amelia-Marie received a Disability Visibility Fellowship for The Unexpected Shape Writing Academy and the 2022 Disability Leadership Award from the ACPA Coalition for Disability. www.ameliamariewoo.com(Link is external)
